Delete your account and data

You can delete your CampusRidez account at any time, directly in the app or by submitting a request on this page. You never need to download the app to find or use these instructions.

Option 1

Delete your account inside the app

This is the fastest method and takes effect immediately.

Open your profile

Launch the CampusRidez app and tap your profile photo in the top corner to open account settings.

Go to Account Settings

Scroll to the bottom of the settings list and select Account and Privacy.

Tap Delete Account

Choose Delete Account. You will see a summary of what will be removed before anything happens.

Resolve active bookings

If you have upcoming rides, the app will ask you to cancel or complete them first so other students are not left stranded.

Confirm the deletion

Confirm using the verification prompt. Deletion begins immediately and cannot be undone.

Before you delete

Deletion is permanent. A few things worth doing first:

  • Cancel or complete any upcoming rides so other students are not affected.
  • Save anything from your chat history that you may want later.
  • If you only want to stop notifications, you can turn them off instead of deleting.
  • If you are reporting a safety issue, please report it before deleting so we can investigate.

Option 2

Request deletion through support

If you cannot access the app or your account, submit a request here and our team will process it for you.

Identity verification

To protect your account, we can only act on a request that comes from the university email address on the account. If we cannot match the request to an account, we may ask you to confirm from that address before proceeding. We will never ask for your password or a verification code.

Processing timeline

We acknowledge requests within 3 business days and complete verified deletions within 30 days. Deletions started in the app take effect immediately. Backup copies are purged on our regular backup rotation, within 90 days.

Prefer email?

Send your request from your university email to privacy@campusridez.com with "Account deletion request" in the subject line.

Complete this form and our team will verify and process your request.

We can only process a request sent from the account's own email address.

Tell us if you want your whole account deleted or only specific information removed.

Never include your password or a verification code in this form. We will never ask you for them.

Transparency

What is deleted and what may be retained

We want you to know exactly what happens to your information, including the narrow cases where we are required to keep something.

What will be deleted

  • Your profile, name, photo, and bio
  • Your university email address and phone number
  • Verification status records
  • Your ride postings and booking history
  • Your exact pickup and drop-off addresses
  • In-app chat messages you sent, subject to the retention notes below
  • Push-notification tokens and device identifiers
  • Saved places and app preferences

What may need to be retained

  • Records subject to an open safety report, investigation, or legal hold
  • Limited transaction or cost-sharing records where tax or accounting law requires retention
  • Aggregated, de-identified analytics that can no longer be linked back to you
  • Records of a policy enforcement action, kept to prevent a removed user from re-registering
  • Messages retained in another participant's conversation history, which we cannot unilaterally erase from their account

Deletion is permanent

Once your account is deleted, your ride history, messages, and saved details cannot be restored. If you want to use CampusRidez again later, you will need to create a new account and complete verification from the start.

Do not send sensitive information

Never include a password, verification code, or payment-card number in a deletion request or any other message to us. We will never ask you for them, and this website does not collect them.
