Verification helps strengthen trust in the CampusRidez community, but no verification system can eliminate all risk. This page explains the tools we provide and the judgment we ask every student to bring to a shared trip.
Verification and visibility
A community limited to verified students.
Membership requirements and visibility rules are the foundation of the platform. They are designed to make the community accountable, not to guarantee outcomes.
Phone verification
A verified phone number is required, which reduces throwaway accounts and gives participants a reliable way to be reached about a booking.
Student-focused profiles
Profiles are built around campus context rather than anonymous handles. Review a profile before you book or accept a booking.
Profile visibility rules
Ride participants see the details they need to complete the trip. Exact addresses are never published to public ride feeds or public profiles.
In-app communication
Coordinate through in-app chat so messages stay attached to the booking and are available if a concern needs to be reviewed.
Ride details and history
Booking history preserves route, timing and participant records that support customer service and safety follow-up.
Before you ride
Five habits worth building.
Most safety comes from preparation. These steps take a couple of minutes and make a shared trip far more predictable.
Review the profile and the ride details
Check the route, departure time, seat count, vehicle notes and anything the driver or passenger has written before you confirm.
Confirm the plan in chat
Agree on the meeting point, timing and what happens if someone is running late. Written confirmation avoids confusion at the curb.
Choose a well-lit, public pickup point
Campus buildings, staffed lots, transit centers and other busy public locations are better meeting points than isolated streets or empty garages.
Verify the vehicle and the person
Match the driver and vehicle to the booking before you get in. If something does not match what you agreed to, do not take the ride.
Tell someone your plan
Share your route and expected arrival with a friend or family member, especially for long trips or late-night travel.
During the ride
- Wear a seat belt for the entire trip, and make sure every passenger has a seat belt available.
- Speak up early if driving feels unsafe, and ask to be dropped at the nearest safe public location.
- Keep the agreed route and stops. Added detours should be discussed, not assumed.
- Do not pressure anyone to share personal information beyond what the ride requires.
- Treat the vehicle and everyone in it with respect, including other passengers you have not met.
If something feels wrong
Trust your instincts. You are never obligated to start or continue a ride. Ask to be dropped at the nearest safe, public location, then report the account so we can review it.
Driver obligations
Driving carries legal responsibility.
CampusRidez does not employ drivers, provide vehicles, or supply insurance. If you offer a ride, these obligations are yours.
Licensing, registration and insurance
- Hold a valid driver license and keep your vehicle registration current.
- Maintain the vehicle insurance required by law in your state, and understand how your policy treats cost-sharing passengers.
- Follow all traffic, transportation and local laws, including passenger and seat-belt requirements.
- Keep the vehicle in safe operating condition, including tires, brakes, lights and seat belts.
- Never drive while impaired, distracted, excessively fatigued or otherwise unfit to drive.
- Do not operate an unauthorized commercial transportation service through the platform.
Prohibited conduct
- Harassment, threats, intimidation or stalking of any kind
- Discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other protected characteristic
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Weapons, illegal drugs or open containers of alcohol in the vehicle
- Reckless, aggressive or dangerous driving
- Impersonation, fraudulent ride postings or misrepresenting who is driving
- Unauthorized commercial transportation or fare-metered service
- Sharing another person's pickup, drop-off or contact information without permission
Reporting and enforcement
How CampusRidez responds to reports.
Zero tolerance for harassment means reports are taken seriously and can result in permanent removal from the platform.
Report from the ride or the profile
Reporting tools are available in-app on bookings, chats and profiles so a concern can be raised with the relevant context attached.
Block to cut off contact
Blocking prevents further in-app contact from that account and can be used independently of filing a report.
We review the available records
Reports are reviewed against ride details, booking history and in-app messages relevant to the concern.
We take action on the account
Depending on severity, outcomes may include a warning, feature restrictions, suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
Serious matters go to authorities
Conduct that appears to involve a crime or an immediate threat should be reported to law enforcement, and we may cooperate with valid legal requests.

Verification helps strengthen trust. It does not make rides risk-free, and it is not a background check, a driving-record check or a guarantee about any person's behavior. CampusRidez helps students coordinate rides but cannot eliminate transportation risks. Students should review profiles, communicate clearly, follow local laws, and use personal judgment before participating in a ride.
