1.Respectful conduct
CampusRidez works because students treat each other well. Every interaction, whether in chat or in the car, should be courteous and considerate.
- Communicate clearly and politely.
- Respect personal space, belongings, and privacy.
- Ask before adjusting music, temperature, or windows.
- Respect a driver's rules for their own vehicle, including food, smoking, and pets.
2.No harassment
Harassment of any kind is prohibited. This includes:
- Unwanted sexual advances, comments, or physical contact.
- Repeated unwanted contact after being asked to stop.
- Threats, intimidation, or stalking.
- Sharing another user's personal information without consent.
- Sending sexually explicit or abusive messages in chat.
3.No discrimination
Do not refuse, cancel, or treat anyone differently based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, or veteran status. Discriminatory language in profiles, ride postings, or chat is not permitted.
4.No impersonation
Your account must represent you accurately.
- Use your real name and a current photo of yourself.
- Do not create an account using someone else's university email.
- Do not let another person use your account to post or book rides.
- Do not misrepresent your university affiliation or student status.
5.No fraudulent ride postings
Every ride posting must reflect a trip you genuinely intend to take.
- Do not post rides you have no plan to drive.
- Do not post duplicate listings for the same trip.
- Do not advertise more seats than your vehicle lawfully seats with working seat belts.
- Do not use ride postings to advertise unrelated products, services, or events.
- Do not attempt to move payment or coordination off-platform to avoid accountability.
6.No dangerous driving
Drivers are responsible for operating their vehicle safely and lawfully at all times.
- Obey speed limits and traffic laws.
- Do not text, browse, or handle your phone while driving.
- Do not drive aggressively, race, or tailgate.
- Do not drive a vehicle that is unsafe or not roadworthy.
- Confirm every passenger has a functioning seat belt before departing.
7.No intoxicated driving
Never drive after consuming alcohol, cannabis, or any substance that impairs your ability to drive. There is no acceptable amount. Passengers should never ride with a driver they believe may be impaired. If you suspect impairment, do not get in the vehicle, and report it immediately at safety@campusridez.com. In an emergency, call 911 first.
8.No illegal activity
The Platform may not be used for any unlawful purpose. Prohibited conduct includes:
- Transporting or using illegal drugs.
- Carrying weapons in violation of law or campus policy.
- Consuming alcohol in a vehicle or providing alcohol to a minor.
- Theft, vandalism, fraud, or any act of violence.
9.No unauthorized commercial transportation
CampusRidez is for genuine shared trips, not for running a business. Do not use the Platform to operate a taxi, livery, courier, or delivery service, to solicit customers for a transportation business, or to profit from driving. Cost-sharing is intended only to help offset a driver's actual trip expenses.
10.Accurate pickup and drop-off information
Accurate stops keep shared routes practical for everyone.
- Enter a pickup and drop-off address you can actually meet.
- Choose safe, legal, well-lit places to stop whenever possible.
- Update your booking promptly if your stop changes.
- Do not add unannounced extra stops or detours after booking.
- Use another user's location only to complete the ride. Never save, share, or reuse it for any other purpose.
11.Respect for agreed departure times
People plan around shared rides, so timing matters.
- Arrive at your pickup point on time and ready to go.
- Drivers should depart close to the posted time and message if delayed.
- Cancel as early as you can if plans change so the seat can be reused.
- Repeated no-shows and last-minute cancellations may affect your account standing.
12.Appropriate chat behavior
In-app chat exists to coordinate rides.
- Keep messages relevant, respectful, and ride-related.
- Do not send spam, solicitations, or unsolicited promotional content.
- Do not send explicit, hateful, or threatening content.
- Never share financial account numbers, passwords, or verification codes in chat.
- Keep coordination in the app so records exist if a problem arises.
13.Reporting safety concerns
If something feels wrong, report it. Reports help protect the whole community and can be submitted without confronting the other person.
- Use the in-app report option on a profile, ride, or conversation.
- Email safety@campusridez.com for urgent safety matters.
- Use the support form and select the safety category for non-urgent concerns.
- In an emergency, contact 911 or campus police first.
You can also block a user at any time, which prevents further contact and hides your activity from them.
14.Consequences for violations
We review reports and take action based on severity, context, and history. Depending on what we find, we may:
- Issue a warning and require acknowledgment of these guidelines.
- Limit account features such as posting or booking.
- Reduce visibility of ride postings.
- Suspend the account pending review.
- Permanently remove the account.
- Report conduct to campus authorities or law enforcement where appropriate.
Serious violations, including impaired driving, threats, violence, sexual misconduct, and impersonation, can result in immediate permanent removal without a prior warning. We do not guarantee a specific outcome or timeline, and we may not be able to share investigative details with a reporting user.
