Who can use CampusRidez?

CampusRidez is built for currently enrolled university students who can verify their campus affiliation with a university email address. You must also meet the minimum age requirement in our Terms of Service.

Do I need a university email?

Yes. A verified university email address is required to create an account. It is the core requirement that keeps the community limited to students from participating campuses.

Is CampusRidez available outside the University of North Texas?

Not yet. The pilot begins with students at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. The platform is designed to expand to additional universities, and joining the waitlist helps us prioritize which campuses come next.

Is CampusRidez the same as Uber or Lyft?

No. CampusRidez is a peer ridesharing and ride-coordination platform, not a commercial ride-hailing or taxi service. Drivers post trips they are already taking and share costs with classmates rather than operating a for-hire service.

Does CampusRidez employ drivers?

No. Drivers are independent students, not employees or contractors of CampusRidez. They use their own vehicles and are responsible for their own driver license, vehicle registration, insurance and compliance with traffic and transportation laws.

How do I offer a ride?

Post the route you are already driving, your departure time and the number of seats you want to make available. You then review incoming bookings, see each passenger's pickup and drop-off, and coordinate through in-app chat.

How do I book a seat?

Browse rides posted by verified students, select how many seats you need, enter your exact pickup and drop-off, then review and confirm the booking. After confirmation you can chat with the driver and receive status updates.

Can passengers choose different pickup locations?

Yes, and this is a core feature. A ride may travel between two cities, but each passenger provides their own pickup and drop-off location within that route so the trip works for everyone in the car.

Can I edit my booking?

Booking changes such as seat count or stop details may be possible depending on how close the departure time is and whether the driver has capacity. Always confirm changes with the driver in chat so everyone has the same plan.

What happens if a driver cancels?

You receive a cancellation notification and the seats are released. Because drivers are students sharing trips they were already taking, CampusRidez cannot guarantee that a ride will be available or that a cancelled ride will be replaced.

What happens if a passenger cancels?

The seat is returned to the ride so another verified student can book it, and the driver is notified. Cancel as early as you can so the driver has time to fill the seat.

Is payment handled in the app?

Cost sharing between students is arranged according to the payment terms described in our Terms of Service. CampusRidez does not operate as a commercial fare-metered transportation service, and we never ask for payment-card details on this website.

Who can see my exact pickup and drop-off?

Exact addresses are shared only with the authorized ride participants who need them to complete the trip. They are never shown in public ride feeds, never published on public profiles, never included in push-notification text, and other passengers do not automatically see another passenger's exact address.

How do reporting and blocking work?

Reporting tools are available on bookings, chats and profiles, so a concern is submitted with the relevant context attached. Blocking prevents further in-app contact from that account and can be used whether or not you file a report. Serious matters should also be reported to law enforcement.

Does verification make rides completely safe?

No. Verification helps strengthen trust, but no verification system can eliminate all risk. CampusRidez does not perform background checks or driving-record checks, and students remain responsible for exercising personal judgment before and during a ride.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the account settings screen in the app, or submit a deletion request through our Account and Data Deletion page. You do not need to download the app to find deletion instructions.
